Cougars Rally for Thrilling Win Over Rochester, Will Play for a National Title

ROCHESTER, MN – For the first time in program history, the Columbus State volleyball team earned a trip to the NJCAA DIII Championship final after battling tournament host Rochester in a five set thriller on Friday night. 

Inside the Match:

-No. 3 Columbus State (28-9) vs. No. 2 Rochester (31-3)

-Final set scores were 11-25, 25-21, 20-25, 25-19, 15-11 

Key Statistics:

-Each Cougar who saw the court tallied at least one dig.

-Bobby Diamond led all players with 29 kills. She also posted 11 digs in the effort.

-Audrey Jenkins had a double-double with 37 assists and 22 digs. She also contributed five kills on eight errorless swings. 

-Tate Rybarczyk accumulated a game-high 32 digs and two aces. She also dished out a trio of assists. 

-Burgin Bachman and Akea Hunter led the blocking effort with four total blocks apiece.

What's Next:

-The Cougars will play No. 1 Owens for a national title Saturday, November 16 at 6:00 PM CT / 7:00 PM ET.
