PINEHURST, North Carolina – The Columbus State volleyball team wrapped up the NJCAA Mid-Atlantic District Championships with three sweeps before falling to Owens in the district championship match. The Cougars clinch the Mid-Atlantic District B Championship while Owens walks away with the District A title.

Match 1: Howard Community College (Columbia, MD) 25-8, 25-8, 25-14
-Bobby Diamond led the game with 11 kills on a .714 clip
-Audrey Jenkins ran the offense with 31 assists
-Edan Jones led all players with two service aces
-Jones and Tate Rybarczyk led the Cougars with eight digs each.
Match 2: Sandhills Community College (host) 25-9, 25-17, 25-16
-Diamond recorded 20 kills on 28 swings (.679)
-Jenkins dished out 30 assists while Rybarczyk chipped in six helpers as well as a game-high 17 digs
-Jenna Barbessi served up a game-high two aces
Match 3: Butler County Community College (Butler, PA) 25-18, 25-15, 25-11
-Diamond tallied 13 kills while Rybarczyk had 13 digs to lead the Cougars
-Burgin Bachman put up a total of six blocks, including two solo stuffs
March 4: Owens Community College (Perrysburg, OH) 17-25, 12-25, 19-25
-Akea Hunter totaled four blocks and four kills in the effort
The Cougars will depart for Rochester, Minnesota the week of Nov. 11 for the NJCAA DIII Volleyball National Championship which will be held Thu, Nov. 14 – Sat, Nov. 16.
