COLUMBUS, Ohio – Despite having one of their best shooting and rebounding effort thus far, the Cougar women's basketball team (1-6, 0-3 OCCAC) struggled to stop Sinclair's top shooters in Saturday afternoon's 86-70 loss. Sinclair (8-0, 2-0 OCCAC) bested the Cougars in field goal percentage (42.5% to 35.4%) while Columbus State pulled down 55 boards to the Tartan Pride's 49.
Leading the Cougars was Whitney Staggs, who tallied her fifth career double-double on 20 points and 18 rebounds. Lyrik Easley contributed 10 points on 5-for-6 shooting along with grabbing six rebounds and tying her career-high of three blocks.
Tezzaeria Christian came off the bench for her best performance all season with nine points and four rebounds. She committed no turnovers in her 24 minutes on the court. Qiyje' January added eight points and three assists while Madison Miles totaled in six points in the effort.
Next up, the Cougars travel to New York to take on DII's Jamestown and Erie Community Colleges Fri, Dec. 7 – Sat, Dec. 8.
