Cross Country Team Posts Strong Finishes at Home Meet

DELAWARE, Ohio – The Columbus State cross country team posted strong finishes at the Fourth Annual Cougar Invitational, held at the Delaware Campus Cross Country Course on Saturday morning.

Despite the rainy conditions and a 45-minute weather delay, the Cougars finished strong in the 5,000 kilometer race. The race featured runners from Capital University, Bethany College, Lorain County Community College, and Wilberforce University. Several Columbus State alumni also participated in the race.

Bryce Hanson paced the Cougars with a 19:37 time and 23rd overall finish.  Josiah Schooler clocked a 20:01 time for 25th place while Dylan Williams cross the line third for the team at 20:24.

Demitri Lowry and Nickolas Caiazza finished in 20:34 and 21:07 respectively.

For the women, Emily Blenk finished sixth with a 21:20 time while Marley Hogan crossed the line at 27:56.

The Cougars return to action, Sat, Oct. 5 when they travel to Fairview, PA for Mercyhurst University's meet.
