Cougar Cross Country Team Secures Top 20 Finish in Season Opening Race

BETHANY, WV – The Columbus State cross country team opened up its season with a top 20 place finish at the Bethany College Invitational on Saturday morning. Finishing right behind the host, the men's team concluded the hilly 8k race with an average pace of 34:44.

Sophomore Kyle Roach was Columbus State's top finisher, clocking a 32:42.8. The second Cougar to cross the line was Bryce Hanson, who cross the line at 33:05.6.

Rounding out the scoring effort for the Cougars were Dylan Williams, Nickolas Caiazza, and Demetri Lowry. Williams finished in 34:53.0 while Caizza and Lowry cross the line at 36:07.2 and 36:543 respectively.

Representing Columbus State in the women's 6k race were freshmen Emily Blenk and Marley Hogan. Blenk finished in 26:44.1 while Hogan completed the race in 33:43.6.
