ROCKFORD, Illinois – After a promising season, the Columbus State men's Basketball team went into the District II Championship ready to battle with No. 9 Rock Valley for the opportunity to advance toward the NJCAA National Tournament. Instead, they suffered a heartbreaking setback, falling to the Golden Eagles by three points to finish the season as District II Runner-Up.

-The Cougars and the Golden Eagles were tied nine times and exchanged the lead eight times over the course of the game.
-Offensively, Columbus State outperformed Rock Valley. However, turnovers plagued the Cougars committing 21 compared to the Eagles' 10.
-Corey Baker led the team with 23 points on 8-for-16 shooting from the field and a perfect 4-for-4 at the line. He also led his team in assists (5) and steals (3).
-Keshawn Underwood scored 17 points, including draining five three-pointers.
This game concluded the Cougars 2018-19 season. The finish 4th in the conference behind D2 Cuyahoga, Edison State, and Lakeland as well as the Region XII DIII Champions.
