Columbus State men's basketball dominate Ohio Christian JV in 128-88 win

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The men's basketball team picks up their fifth 100+ point victory this season on Saturday over Ohio Christian University's JV squad.

Leading by 26 points by halftime, the Cougars offense was on point throughout the game. Columbus State shot 55.6% overall (50-of-90) and 50% (19-of-38)from behind the arc while seven Cougars tallied double-digit points.

All 15 of Columbus State's players got on the court and 12 of them scored. Freshman Chris Byrd led the Cougars with a career-high 22 points on 8-of-14 shooting, thanks to going 6-of-11 from the trey.  Sophomore Nic Williams contributed a season-high 18 points along with leading both teams in rebounds with nine.

Sophomore Donte Smith had one of the best games of his career, shooting 17 points, including sinking in 5-of-8 attempts in three-pointers. 

Sophomores Kenneth Moore and Patrick Ngene-Igwe added 14 points while Moore had six assists and four steals (game-highs) and Ngene-Igwe snatched eight rebounds.

Freshman Rodney Willis and sophomore Lamarr Barnes each chipped in ten points to round out the Cougars' double-digit scorers.

Leading Ohio Christian in scoring was Claude Bogan, who sunk in 24 points, including six 3's for the Trailblazers.

Next up for the Cougars is a road game against Cincinnati Christian University on Wed, Dec. 9, followed by a a big game against conference rival Cincinnati State on Sat, Dec. 12.
