Cougars Earn 18th Straight Win

 RIO GRANDE, Ohio – Bobby Diamond's stellar performance led Columbus State to a 3-0 victory over University of Rio Grande on Wednesday evening. Diamond tallied 14 kills on 19 errorless swings for a .737 attack percentage. 

 The Cougars now stand at 27-2 overall and 12-1 in conference play.

Audrey Jenkins and Georgia Payne directed the offense with 21 and 13 assists respectively. Payne also contributed six kills, four digs, and three blocks in the effort.

Edan Jones had a balanced attack against Rio Grande with five kills and a team-high 21 digs. Whitney Staggs and Tiziana Russell each added four successful attacks for the offense.

Aside from Jones, Megan Mechlin and Danielle Miller aided in the defense with 17 and 11 digs respectively. At the net, Staggs put down a career-best three solo blocks.

Next up, the Cougars have a tough schedule ahead. On Friday, they face No. 3 Owens at 6:00 p.m. (one of their two losses). On Saturday, they go up against Lorain County at 11:00 a.m., who they battled in five sets earlier this season.
