COLUMBUS, Ohio – After two stellar defensive performances, freshman outside hitter and six rotation player Edan Jones was named the NJCAA DIII Defensive Player of the Week on Wednesday.
Jones averaged 4.43 digs per set along with accumulating four assisted blocks and one solo block over two games last week. Aside from her defensive prowess she averaged 12 kills on .325 hitting and 2.5 service aces per match.
This is the first NJCAA player of the week selection for Jones and the first for Columbus State this season. Jones was also selected as the OCCAC Player of the Week. Overall this season she has averaged per set 3.69 digs, .50 blocks, 1.92 kills and a .261 hitting percentage.
