COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Columbus State volleyball team is headed to Arnold, Maryland to compete for the District G Championship after clinching the Region XII DIII title on Friday in front of an energetic home crowd. The Cougars won in four sets (25-16, 25-15, 16-25, 16-25) over reigning regional champions Lorain County Community College.
The four set victory was guided by Hannah Wallace, who gave an outstanding performance with 13 kills and no errors on 17 swings for a career-best .765 attack percentage. Wallace also put up a game-high nine blocks for the Cougars.
Leah Conway posted double-digit kills with ten while Kaitlyn Ahrns added nine kills for the offense before being sidelined with a bloody nose from a rebounded block. Morgan Danec and Rachel Ralston each registered four terminations with Danec logging seven blocks.
Allyse Rutter put down six kills and dished out 20 assists as Vicki Osborne recorded her third double-double of the season with 16 assists and 11 digs. Rafaella Gioffre led the back row with 12 digs while Haley Litman and Katlyn Ray scooped up nine and eight balls respectively.
Columbus State will face the Region XII Champion on Sun, Oct. 30 at 11:00 a.m. at Anne Arundel Community College in Arnold, Maryland.
