COLUMBUS, Ohio – Sophomore Hannah Wallace secured her first career double-double in a five set victory over the Lorain County Commodores on Saturday in the Delaware Hall Athletic Center.
The two teams traded points throughout the match, but the Cougars prevailed with final set scores of 25-22, 21-25, 25-21, 26-28, 15-11. Columbus State moves to 3-2 in the OCCAC and 5-6 overall.
Wallace had a stellar performance, racking up 15 kills on 23 swings for a game-high .435 attack percentage. She put up 11 total blocks, including six solo in her balanced effort on the court.
Freshman Vicki Osborne also registered a double-double, her second of the season with 16 assists and ten digs. Allyse Rutter recorded double-digits in assists with 14 and digs with 21. Haley Litman tallied a career-high four aces along with scooping up 15 digs for the Cougars. Rachel Ralston bounced back after being sidelined with an ankle injury with 12 assists, eight digs, five kills, and four kills.
Columbus State returns to action at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Sinclair Community College.
