PIQUA, Ohio - In a match where the momentum continually switched back and forth, the Columbus State volleyball team came up just short as they fell to Edison State in five sets. Set scores were 13-25, 25-20, 17-25, 25-14, 10-15.
Overshadowing the Cougars was Edison's defense who combined for 135 digs and 15 blocks to hold Columbus State to a .182 hitting percentage.
Allyse Rutter achieved her second career triple-double with 14 assists, ten kills, and ten assists. Kaitlyn Ahrns led the offense with 11 kills while Morgan Danec and Leah Conway each tallied nine kills. Vicki Osborne dished out 16 assists and Rachel Ralston had a career-high 12 assists. Haley Litman led the defense with 13 digs. Hannah Wallace put up a game-high eight blocks along with a quartet of kills and digs.
Columbus State returns home on Saturday afternoon, hosting the Lorain County Commodores at 11:00 a.m.
