COLUMBUS, Ohio - We are reviewing the best of the Columbus State women's basketball team's 2018-19 season-
Best victory: The Nov. 11th win over D2 Frederick Community College. Freshman forward Whitney Staggs went on an offensive run like none other, scoring what would be a season-high 35 points on 17-for-24 shooting.
Best off the court moment: According to Coach Allgood, it was " the community service project cleaning up the streets near OSU hospital".
Top national stat: 14th in the country in rebounds per game (46.8).
Top overall shooter: Whitney Staggs. She averaged 44.8 percent over the season and 17.4 points per game.
Top free throw shooter: Kayli Houmard. She wasn't at the line a lot but when she was she shot 100% (11-for-11).
Top scorer in a game: See "Best Victory"
Top rebounder in a game: Whitney Staggs again. 18 rebounds in three different games.
Best game (statistically speaking): Jan. 23 vs. Hocking. The Cougars shot a season-best 49.5 percent in the 110-42 victory over the Hawks. They went 36.4 percent from behind the arc and grabbed an impressive 60 rebounds. They also dished out 23 assists, grabbed a season-high 24 steals and limited their turnovers to just six.
