Cross Country Competes at the All-Ohio Intercollegiate Championships

NORTON, Ohio - The Columbus State men's cross country team finished 34th at the 2018 All-Ohio Championships held at Silver Creek Metro Park on Saturday.

The eight-kilometer race featured 39 teams from all three divisions of the NCAA, NAIA as well as NJCAA DIII. 

Freshman Kyle Roach paced the Cougars by finishing second among NJCAA runners and 249th in the 324-person field, crossing the line in 29:30.9. Sophomore Aaron Kennelly followed in 264th  place with a time of 30:08.6, while freshman Reed Farmer checked in at 30:37.6 for a 272nd  place finish.

Freshmen Anas Nur and Nickolas Caiazza rounded out the scoring effort, finishing in 31:16.2 and 32:38.3 respectively.

Other Cougar runners included freshman Dylan Williams who clocked 33:38.8 and sophomore Laithe Abu-Obeid who crossed the line in 34:31.1.

The host, University of Akron, won the meet and were followed by Ohio University and Malone University. Ohio University's Josh Park won the race with a time of 24:14.9.

For the women's 6k race, Maribel Nava finished with a time of 33:33.7 for a 299th  place finish.

The Cougars returns to action on Fri, Oct. 12 when they travel to Wilmington College. The race is scheduled to begin at 5:15 p.m.
