Verma paces Cougar cross country team at Otterbein Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus State men's cross country team raced to a 17th place finish amidst a stacked field at the Otterbein Invitational on Saturday.

The seventeen-teams race featured NCAA DII, NCAA DIII, and NAIA institutions across Ohio, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. A total of 231 men ran the 8k race at the Lehman Cross Country Course.

Kunal Verma again paced the Cougars, finishing 88th place with a time of 28:27 (5:43 mile).

Lucas Collins and Jesus Davis finished 197th (31:58.5) and 199th (32:12.1) respectively.

Thomas Shaw finished with a time of 32.12.1 while Glauco Fontgalland rounded out the five with a time of 34:35.5, taking 221st place.

Ohio Wesleyan University won the invitational and were followed by Otterbein and University of Findlay.

Next up for the Cougars is the Cedarville Invitational on Friday, October 2.
