Carlisle leads men’s golf to win at home invitational

DELAWARE, Ohio – Freshman golfer John Carlisle led the Cougars to another victory at the Columbus State Invitational this past weekend at Glen Ross Golf Course.

Seven Columbus State golfers participated in the 18-hole, one day event at the par 70, 6,551 yard course. Columbus State carded a season-low 298 (+18).The finish was 27 strokes better than Lakeland, who came in second place.

Carlisle shot career-low 71 (+1) to earn low-medalist honors, putting his season average at an impressive 74.

Freshman Christopher Dearth also carded a career-best with a 73 while sophomore Dominic Caminiti shot a 76 for a third place finish.

Sophomore Philip Campisi notched a 78 to round out the top five overall scorers. Sophomores Jack Casebolt and Colin Dawson finished the tournament with an 83 and 86 respectively. Freshman John Mikulec played as an individual and finished with a 79.

Next up, the Cougars travel to Lakeland Community College on Sun, April 30 to play at Quail Hollow Golf Course.
