COLUMBUS, Ohio - We have reviewed the best of the Columbus State men's basketball team's 2018-19 season-
Best victory: Columbus State defeated conference foe Lorain County 68-60 on Feb. 25 to win back-to-back regional championships.
Top national stats: 20th in the country in total rebounds (42.2), 23rd in steals per game with 10.3, 28th in the country in FG% 46.0 percent.
Top scorer: Corey Baker averaged 12.6 points per game. He was also the top 3-point shooter, draining 16 of his 36 shots (44.4%) behind the arc.
Best scorer: While Baker averaged the most points per game, it was RJ Fairrow who's accuracy inside tops the Cougar offense. He averaged 61.5% on 7.1 points per game in 2-point field-goal percentage. Not surprisingly, he's also Columbus State's leading offensive rebounder (2.7 boards per game).
Best Dunker: Jeremiah Green, hands down.
Top free throw shooter: Austin Bennett, who sunk 77.8 percent of his shots at the line.
Top scorer in a game: Corey Baker, 24 points vs. Hocking College on Feb. 20.
Top rebounder in a game: Corey Baker, 16 rebounds vs. Sinclair on Feb. 7.
Best game (statistically speaking): Jan. 26 victory at Owens. The team shot 58.5 percent overall, including 50 percent from behind the arc and 70% at the line. Additionally, they committed just seven turnovers and accumulated only 12 personal fouls.
