Men’s Basketball Picks Up Conference Win Over Clark State

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Columbus State men's basketball team (8-4, 5-0 OCCAC) remain undefeated in conference action after Wednesday's win over the Clark State Eagles, who are 7-8 overall and 1-3 in league play.

Five Cougars recorded double figures including Keshawn Underwood, who scored 18 points along with pulling down 13 rebounds, both career-bests for the freshman. Underwood went 4-for-6 from behind the arc and 4-for-4 at the line.

Sophomore Austin Bennett registered a season-high 18 points on 7-for-11 shooting and a team high two blocks. Charles Aden came off the bench to score 16 points. The sophomore transfer also dished out three assists and did not commit a single turnover in 32 minutes of play.

Shawn Hawkins and Jeremiah Green added 13 and ten points respectively. Green also chipped in five rebounds and four assists. Corey Baker dished out a career-high seven assists while putting away eight points and eight boards.

Hawkins and Matthew Stone led the team in steals with three while Stone and Uchenna Ngene-Igwe chipped in two points to round out the scoring.

Columbus State is back in action on Saturday, traveling to the Word MultiPlex in Warrensville Heights to take on Bryant & Stratton. Tip-off is 3:00 p.m.
