Lorain County hands men's basketball a loss on the road; Young attains career high

ELYRIA, Ohio – The Columbus State men's basketball team (10-5, 4-2 OCCAC) dropped a conference loss to rival Lorain County Community College (14-2, 5-1 OCCAC) on Wednesday evening. With a final score of 95-88, the Cougars struggled to lead against the physical Commodore team. Despite the loss, Mario Young continued his hot streak on the court, knocking down a career-high 35 points on 10-for-14 shooting from the field and going 15-for-15 at the line. He also grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.

Christopher Byrd was only other double-digit scorer with 13 points, including the team's lone three-point shot. Zion Parham scored nine points along with snatching five boards and dishing out three assists while Jeremiah Fair-Harris sunk in eight for the Cougars.

The Cougars return to action at 3:00 p.m. Sat, Jan. 20 when they hit the road to Perrysburg to take on Owens Community College.
