Columbus State is Central Ohio’s front door to higher education and a leader in advancing our region’s prosperity. The college's mission is to educate and inspire, providing students the opportunity to achieve goals.

The mission of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is to provide quality intercollegiate sports programs. We invest in the success of our students and provide the resources to help them achieve academic excellence. To this end, the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is housed and managed through the Office of Academic Affairs in the Health & Human Services Division.  Furthermore, we assess the needs and interests of our students and offer services that promote student success and retention.  This model affords student athletes access to academic support services and a comprehensive understanding of their role on our campus as a student first!!

We strive to mentor and develop responsible leaders who exhibit strong moral character, display good sportsmanship, and conduct themselves in a dignified manner.  The Columbus State Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is committed to operate with a high regard for ethics and equity and in compliance with the college, the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference, and the National Junior College Athletic Association’s rules and regulations.

The success of the Columbus State athletics program can be measured  by the opportunity, preparation, and support given to our student-athletes, who either transfer to a four year institution and/or graduate from Columbus State.

Athletic teams at Columbus State are consistently competitive at the conference, regional, and national levels. Columbus State is a NJCAA DIII institution, having fully converted beginning in the 2016-17 academic year in order to better meet the needs of the institution and the community. As an NJCAA DIII college, we do not offer athletic scholarships.
